Camping with Horses

Well, this was one very nice camping trip! Probably the EASIEST way to camp with horses that I have ever seen....

We stayed at an Equestrian State Part (Lt. Stubbs) and it made everything SOOOO convenient! The horse stalls are located RIGHT at your campspot! We backed our motorhome right back up to the stalls. Horses were never lonely for us.

AND, it made for VERY EASY CLEAN UP, AND TACK UP procedures.

The trails began immediately right from our campspot. EACH campspot has a trail that goes right off from it and intersects into the main trail, so people aren't running their horses around and through other peoples campspots....

We were able to sit around the firepit, while watching our horses, (or, I mean our horses watched us...)

And, one night we abandon the horses, came inside and treated ourselved to an appetizer dinner. Yum....

BUT, the one draw back......DON'T TRY THIS!!!!

(Look at the Desert Rose....trying to "quietly" sneak out to smoke.....hoping the horses won't hear her....)

The old Cowboy creed...."Your horses eat before YOU eat....or smoke."

Hello mamma.....we hear you and we'r hungry!

  8. We loved horse camping, but it wasn't as easy or convenient as how your camp was set up! We had to put up high lines, haul water in or ride the horses down to the river several times during the day, haul in hay to feed them...the list was endless, but it was fun!
