For the 4th of July, we took our friends (who were visiting from CALIFORNIA) with us to our daughters nearby town of Eatonville to enjoy the towns parade.
I love a small town parade....they seem to have a better turn out than a large town for some reason.
So, It all started off with a Text from our son who was working in Truckee CA. saying "Brian said to tell you guys, he's coming. He's leading the parade. " Brian is a deputy who is a friend of ours, as well as a buddy of our sons. He knew we'd be on the sidewalk waiting. Ha! And just about that time, here he came, with sirens blaring!
This is the Queens Float.
Many Native Americans showing their beautiful old costumes.
Next, We even had clowns, complete with clown dogs to give children nightmares...ha! Actually he was very cute....
More floats.....
Classic Hot Rods.....
Some of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL horses, all decked out....And, of course, professional parade watchers and candy gatherers....Notice he's watching for anyone coming, who "might" be throwing candy. He's going to be ready! Paperazzi and future queens.....More paparazzi....and candy catchers! Ha!Later, we all came to our house for BBQ and Fireworks. It was a great day!
Sounds like you and the family had a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about your rides!
Well, for a small town parade, that sure was impressive! I didn't get to attend very many parades as a child (I don't believe my childhood town of FORKS had them, probably because they were too busy fighting the vampires!), so as and adult, I love them...for the candy, of course!
ReplyDeleteCool pics!! I really wanted to go to a 4th of July parade this year but didn't....next year I'm going to! :)
