4th of July celebrations!!

Ours was full of special events...
We had our friends from California here visiting (Mike and Deb). We took them to the cute small town parade in Eatonville which was complete with everything from Floats, Bands, Tractors, Firetrucks AND the cutest little miniature ponies I've ever seen! they had them dressed up like ballarinas and little boys! check out their shoes!

Red Mary Janes (Sparkly!) and Lacy socks on this one!

This little guy has boys chucka boots on!!! So cute!
We had a great time watching Brooklyn and Connor grab up candy that was thrown towards them. AND THEN, we got to watch as Jamie, who was absentmindedly eating fresh cherries and spitting out the seeds and throwing them over her shoulder....threw one,and hit a big burly guy in the bare chest (tank top) as he was walking behind her....She was mortified when she realized what she had done, AND that the guy just kept on walking!! She couldn't believe it....We happened to catch her reaction in this picture!! LOLO

Eeeewwww....I can't believe he just ignored that!!! She felt terrible.

Me, in my celebrity hat...Better than carrying an umbrella, but causes a severe case of hat hair.

After the parade, we came home and went to Rob's moms house for a BBQ and a FANTASTIC fireworks display! Complete with music, lighted flag and nothing short of professional fireworks!! (Not sure how legal they were, but don't ask, don't tell is my motto...Pretty positive they didn't come from the "safe and sane" stand.) Here is the "pyro team" getting set up.

It was a great night, The kids played, we ate wonderful food, in a yard that was featured in a magazine layout last year....Ruth and Jay LOVE working in their garden and all their hard work really shows. Their property overlooks this field (above), with the perfect view of the mountain.

Brooklyn met a little friend from Austrailia and exchanged email addresses with her (Racheal). Here is a picture of them hamming it up for me.

But most touching was when the music was playing (Lee Greenwoods song, I'm proud to be an American) and the finale was blasting away, lighting up the sky....I remembered and thought of those we are really celebrating.

I hope your's was just as meaningful.... Happy Independance!
