More prayers needed....

It's a well known fact that the holidays usually bring on more depression and acts of domestics and violence but...

On the news today is a story about 4 Lakewood police officers being killed in an ambush style attack in a coffee shop. As some of you know my husband is a retired police officer from this same area and our best friends son is an officer on this department. He is very good friends with some of these who were killed today. He had just been at one of those officers' house for a Halloween party... As expected, he is very shook up over this, as are his parents and all of our community.

I just can't believe someone could commit such a horrendous act of cold blooded murder. My heart goes out to all the families of these men and this one woman officer. Your prayers would be appreciated.
When my husband was still on the department, we had to deal with this type of loss and tragedy on occasion and it never was easy. They are family, the officers are like brothers and sisters and it hits hard, very hard.

My heart is very heavy for these families....
Please pray that this perpetrator is caught soon, these families need this closure.

  1. I just don't understand why someone would be so cruel. Will pray for these families.

  2. Wow, that is just awful!! While it wouldn't surprise me in L.A., it's harder to imagine something like that could happen in a "smaller" town. I am certainly sending some prayers your way, that community will be having a hard time and asking "why?" for many days to come. xo

  5. My husband and I prayed for the families this afternoon as we were driving..he just reached out his hand and said.."will you pray with me for these police who were killed", he held my hand as I prayed aloud for their families and peers, and for their community. We prayed for God's love to embrace those families left behind, whose lives were changed forever today...

We are so saddened for these men and the woman officer's families. How tragic.
